IELTS
International English Language Testing System
What is IELTS?
IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is an international standardized English language proficiency test for non-native English language speakers. It is jointly managed by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge Assessment English, and was established in 1989.
It has a distinct culture, with beautiful landscapes, friendly citizens and amazing places to visit. In addition, the cost of living in Australia is cheaper than most other countries in the world.
Purpose of IELTS
The IELTS is designed to assess the language ability of non-native speakers who need to study or work where English is the language of communication. The test focuses on the four language skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking.

IELTS Acceptance and Costs
It is accepted by over 10,000 organisations in 140 countries, including universities, employers, professional bodies and immigration authorities. The cost of writing the IELTS exam depends on the country in which it is taken, but usually ranges from USD 150 to USD 250.
IELTS Exam Pattern
The pattern for the IELTS exam consists of four sections: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. The listening and reading sections are always completed first, followed by the writing and speaking sections.
The total test time is 2 hours and 45 minutes. Each section is marked on a scale from 0 to 9, and the average of the four sections is taken as the final score.
Who Can Take IELTS?
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam is open to anyone over the age of 16 who wishes to study or work in an English-speaking country or organization. This includes students, immigrants, and professionals.
